Sand, pigment, cement, and house paint on canvas.

I began this piece in Northern Michigan, utilizing beach sand and natural pigments, coupled with my usual pasting ensemble of tile cement and house paint. I later finished this one with dabs of paint and a stark line, harking to Barnett Newman of the 1950’s. These minis were born from my “American Styles Series” that I began in 2022.
