Chris Kelly is an American abstract artist based in Texas. Raised in Colorado, he developed an early appreciation for the relationship between nature, architecture, and the built environment. Before establishing his studio practice, Kelly worked in graphic design and architecture—disciplines that continue to inform his understanding of composition, proportion, and spatial balance.

Kelly was raised in Colorado, where the scale of the Rocky Mountain landscape and the contrast between natural and urban environments shaped an early awareness of form, rugged texture, and place. Before establishing his studio practice, he worked in hospitality, graphic design, and architecture, developing a sensitivity to touch materiality, and the ways people move through and experience space. Those experiences continue to inform his paintings, which are conceived with an unabashed understanding of presence apposed to an isolated objects.

Kelly's work has been commissioned for private residences, hospitality projects, corporate offices, and commercial interiors around the Globe. He regularly collaborates with collectors, interior designers, architects, and art consultants to create site-responsive works while maintaining an independent studio practice dedicated to original abstraction.

He lives and works in Texas with his family, where he continues to develop new collections and a select number of commissions each year.
