My practice balances spontaneity with restraint, allowing the material to lead rather than relying entirely on gesture or impulse. The paintings emerge through touch, editing, movement, and play, often progressing outdoors where natural light reveals the surface more honestly and without preciousness. An awareness of mortality has also shaped the work over time — each piece is approached with the care and urgency of something that could be the last.
